1- Read the book , Ice Cream Soup, by Ann Ingalls
2- Discuss what happens to ice cream when it is out of the freezer – Ask questions
3- Maye your own oobleck by mixing 2 cups of cornstarch with 2 cups of water
4- Add two tablespoons of cocoa for chocolate flavored oobleck (optional)
5- Pour oobleck into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight
6- Pretend the oobleck cubes are scoops of ice cream and design and build an ice cream cake.
7- Add glitter to decorate (optional)
8- Use a timer to record how long it takes for the oobleck to melt
9- Give them time to experiment with the cubes, and see the changes that happen
10- Observe what happened to the oobleck. What has happened?
11- Ask questions:
What does the oobleck feel like? How does it feel after melting? What is different between oobleck and ice cream? And what is similar?
